The marriage Rose & Donal at St Judes Church, Hackney, reception held at the Royal Inn on the Park, London, E9

Rose and Donals wedding was a fun and different wedding, starting with the fact that they were married in between Christmas and New Year, with the brides non-traditional dress fitting nicely into that time of year. It also made quite a difference to be photographing a wedding with the Christmas decorations up in the church!

Their lovely Catholic ceremony was followed by a reception in a private function room in an East End pub.

This couple were another who choose to go for a CD only package, along with far more reportage than formal photos.

The marriage of Angie & Michael at Merton Registry Office, Mordon. A reception following afterwards at Chessington Golf Club, Chessington Surrey

It was good to return to Morden Park registry office, because it is definitely one of the more beautiful ones I have photographed at, with a gorgeous interior and scenic rolling grounds outside.

Angie & Michael were a lovely couple to shoot and a pleasure to be with on the day, and of course being graced with such glorious weather is just the icing on the cake at any wedding, ensuring an excellent collection of photos.

The wedding of Alexandria & Scott at The Hornimans museum, Forest Hill London.

Alexandria & Scott held their wedding in the beautiful historic grand conservatory at Hornimans museum. This presented a couple of minor problems, of no big issue to a pro photographer, firstly due to the nature of the building I had to present all my insurance certificates and of course a glass building needs careful lighting setup so as not to have continuous reflections in the glass.

The key formals were then taken in the lavishly verdant and stunning grounds, with further formals being taken outside the conservatory.

With fantastic sunshine helping the photos along, this couple were ensured a suite of stunning photos, which they choose to receive purely on CD.

Roland & Louise's wedding ceremony at Our Lady in St Michaels Catholic church, Watford, Hertfordshire and a reception at the Park Inn Hotel Watford, Hertfordshire.

The union of Roland & Louise took place at Our Lady in St Michaels, a catholic church in Watford, Hertfordshire. It was my first time shooting there, but will not be my last as I am already booked for another wedding at that location.

There were quite a number of children at their wedding, which often makes for some very fun and endearing shots, this wedding being no exception. Roland and Louise themselves were a nice and smiley couple too, which always helps.

After the service I then followed the couple onto their reception at The Park Inn hotel in Watford. The couple opted to mock up some of the images such as the cutting of the cake and the first dance, and like a few couples this year, also opted to receive a disc of the post processed images.

The marriage of Selina to Jason at Hertford Castle, Hertfordshire and a reception at the Collingwood Suite at Gosling Sports Park, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire

Starting with covering the usual hectic bridal prep at the brides house, I then proceeded onto the simply delightful Hertford Castle for the marriage service. Hertford Castle has some of the most charming of all grounds of any of the licensed marriage venues, offering a lot of different choices for the formals. I always feel its a good combination there to photograph the couple against the stream, the men against the strong lines of the castle itself and the ladies with the pleasingly lovely flora in the background.

I then accompanied the Bride and Groom to their reception at the Gosling Sports centre for yet more photos, which this couple choose to display inside one of my beautiful handmade coffee table books, known to some as storybook albums.

Debbie & Marks wedding at St Lawerance's church, Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire, reception at Kings Lodge Hunton Bridge, Hertfordshire.

A nice local Hertfordshire based wedding for me, and a lovely couple to work for. Debbie and Mark had loads of great images captured, which is always helped along by the wonderful, cheery characters that make up a wedding party - family, friends and well wishers.

Asides from being a bit windy the weather held out nicely, but if as a photographer you know what you are doing you can use wind to you your advantage and capture great shots of the veil blowing in the wind, among others.

Debbie and Mark, like many other customers choose to go for one of my handmade wedding coffee table (or storybook) albums. but unlike many they choose the unusual option of an acrylic cover. With the acrylic covers, the front cover is made of a 5mm piece of crystal clear acrylic with a photo mounted behind and shining through. For a final added touch they opted to have the book 3 quarters bound in the same cloth as the bridesmaid dressed. Very classy!

The Wedding of Sue and George at The Bury, Registry Office, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Reception at the Ramada Jarvis, Redbourn, Hertfordshire

Sue & George's wedding was a very small affair. Just 6 people! But it was also a really nice wedding, and a very friendly couple. The marriage service was held at the Bury Registry Office in Hemel Hempstead, which is the nearest registry office to me, and a location I've worked at a few times. Similarly the reception at the Redbourn Ramada Jarvis is another local location I've worked at a few times, shooting from weddings to covering celebrity parties for magazines.

Lovely couple, lovely wedding, lovely and local for me and they received a lovely coffee table book, which they prepaid for, saving themselves 10% in the process. Yep, that's lovely all round!

Emma & Matt's wedding at Islington Town Hall, London, and a reception held at the London canal museum, Camden.

Emma and Matt had a great Central London wedding, starting with the bridal prep in a very chaotic West End Town House, but with lots of fun characters there plenty of fabulous photos were assured. The registry service at Islington Town Hall was a new location for me to cover, but its certainly one of the more beautifully sculpted of the central London registry offices. A very nice traditional interior, with space outside to shoot the formals.

With all the London clichés (and I say that in the nicest possible way) of Routemaster buses, black cabs and a reception at the Canal museum, this was a very entertaining wedding to attend and shoot.. Matt and Emma were also surrounded by a great group of family and friends, who were just a fantastic bunch of people.

Beautiful memories in the form of photographs are always the destiny when you have a such a great group of people as the guests.

Iain & Olivia's marriage at St Lawrence's church, Bovingdon. Reception also in Bovingdon

Iain and Olivias marriage had all the elements to make not only a very enjoyable wedding for me to attend, but also everything that allows me to take great photos - A lovely couple, happy well attired, smiley guests, a gorgeous venue and beautiful sunshine.

A great friendly and pleasant, young couple to work with.

St Lawerence's church has the most beautiful grounds and this was later complimented by the chosen location for their reception. And everyone was smiling from the bride and groom through to the guests and even the sun was out and smiling. And you know what I'm sure even the horses were smiling too ;-)

The wedding of Jonathan & Yuki at Fallowfields Country House, Kingston Bagpuize, Oxon

This was another nice wedding, with a wedding party that was split between English and Japanese, with many of the Japanese flying in from abroad and not speaking English.

The Oxford based wedding was very unusual and international in that the couple lived in the US, and everything had to be arranged over the telephone and via the mother of the groom. I didn't get to meet them until the actual day of the wedding. Falconry at the wedding was another unusual and delightful twist.

The weather chopped and changed the whole day from pouring rain to beautiful sun and then back to rain again, and then the sun came out once more. But as can be seen in the photos, we had enough sunny periods for me to grab loads of beautiful photos.

Ali & Sean's marriage at Guildford Registry Office, Surrey and a reception at the Inn on the Lake, Godalming, Surrey

Ali & Sean opted to have a quite informal wedding at Guildford Registry office, a location I've worked at before.

This was another good fun wedding, with a lovely crowd of upbeat family and friends all helped along by some stunning weather!

After the service the couple and their guests retired to the Inn on the Lake in Godalming. One of those hidden gems, its an unassuming location from the outside, but really does have some lovely points to it...

The Marriage of Chrissie & Matt at Botley All Saints Church, Nr Southampton. And a reception at the Market Hall, Botley, Hampshire

Chrissie and Matt booked me for a nice long wedding, starting with the bridal prep, which had rather mischievous children adding to the usual ordered chaos of everyone getting ready. Still it made for some cute photos.

Proceeding to a lovely church service in the little village of Botley, the bridal party then all moved onto the Market Hall also in Botley for the reception. It was touch and go with the weather, the sky looked like it was threatening to rain, but in the end, it turned out to be a really smashing day, with lots of lovely warm sun coming out to greet Chrissie and Matt.

The marriage of Suzanne & Peter at St Albans Registry Office

This was another nice local wedding for me, with Suzanne and Peter exchanging vows at the lovely Hertfordshire venue of St Albans Registry Office. Another fun couple to spend a few hours with and lots of great elements to capture, which started with the bride turning up in the cutest little Austin.

I've never been a major clock watcher, and though I was originally booked to attend just the registry office, we actually managed to get through everything very quickly, so at the last moment they asked if I could come along to the restaurant with them for a short while since we had some time remaining, which of course I was happy to do.

The Wedding of Paul & Laura at St Johns, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, with a reception at the Boxmoor Lodge, Hertfordshire.

A lovely spring wedding for Paul and Laura, who were married at St Johns church in Hemel Hempstead, which is one of my more local churches in Hertfordshire, which of course always translates as being able to give the best possible prices when its so near.

The weather was fantastic on the day, and we had trees full of blossom, which just needed to be taken advantage of in the photos.

The couple then took a ride in a particularly nicely bodied Rolls Royce onto Boxmoor Lodge, which is just on the outskirts of Hemel, this venue is a bit of a hidden gem, it doesn't look much from the road but is delightful inside, and with the couple playing a bit for the camera I was able to capture some great moments.
